RomeSymposium on Climate Change and World Development

“The World at a Turning Point: Concerted Action for a Stable Climate, Sustainable Human Progress and Peace”
Rome, May 3 - 5, 2017

The second edition of the RomeSymposium on Climate Change, scheduled for May 3 to 5, 2017, is an initiative of the Nobel Prize winner Michail Gorbachev, realized by Fondazione Italiani and New Policy Forum.
20 experts from all over the world, involved in organizations, universities and climate change research institutes, will meet in Rome under the scientific direction of Martin Lees, former secretary general of the Club of Rome and delegate to United Nations COP conferences, to give their contribution and to demonstrate the imperative need for concrete cooperation and global action against climate change.
The Expert Meeting will focus, on one hand, on arguments that address the consequences of climate change on a scientific, moral, economic, human and security level and will propose, on the other hand, an action plan involving international organizations, national governments and civil society for a shared commitment to counteract the effects of global warming.
The Symposium has promoted the launch of a synergistic collaboration with other organizations involved in sustainable development: the Global Sustainability Forum (which will take place on 2, 3 and 4 May in Rome), and the Student March for Peace (4-5 May). All three events will make Rome a turning point for a possible future.

Partners in the initiative are the European Space Agency, the Rome Chamber of Commerce, and Info Group.
